As you can tell this revolves around glow gauge covers. When i bought this car the previous owner put the gauge covers in and well first off they look like crap. Secondly they are starting to dim on and off on their own. I don't want them in my car, never have. The problem here is the idiot who wired them made a wiring mess for me. I pulled my cluster this past weekend and just wanted to slap him. So I want to remove them, but the lights in the cluster dont light up, the lights in my climate control don't light up and the lights for the dimmer and cruise on the left below my vent don't light up either. I will take some pics and show everyone what the problem is. Suggestions are more than welcome and a bitch session about the covers is appropriate as well.

take a day strip that crap and start fresh. its the only way to do it right.

yea there is no easy fix for this one. Its gonna take time for you to trace and rewire everything. ****ing ricers.

yeah he did a number. I fixed everything else he screwed up, and this is the last and worst of his upgrades. H.E.A.R.T. = Honda Enthusiasts Against Ricer Trash. I have ordered that sticker and I am proudly placing it on my whip.

Ill keep everyone updated and take some pictures of the mess and the fix. Not to mention he had the bright idea of drilling a hole below the vent for the dimmer ****.

It seriously amazes me how people take a car, and with little to no money at all think that there going to make it "awesome" or whatever. There are so many abused cars now with people who dont know what there doing f*cking them up

That just makes each of our cars worth more in the long run. Wouldn't be really special if everyone knew what they were doing (or lucrative either). Plus people would probably get tired of all the clean cars and want something different.

Hey instead of rewiring it, why not get rid of it and get a new one and dash too. Probably easier (cost more), but it would be clean.

Yeah i have thrown that idea around, my dash is clean other than that vent which i can find for like 20 bills. The other thing d*#$ wad did was when he installed his POS head unit he broke all the tabs in the climate control hole. Lazy stupid ricers. Honestly how hard is it to undo a couple of screws and do it right. I might just go source a new dash and cluster.

I should rename this thread to: Why are ppl so f'ing stupid, and you should have to take an IQ test and Ricer test before putting ur hands on a Honda. Especially an Si. Once i fix this little hold up and get a new a-pillar since he had a gay gauge pod on that as well, my car will be clean inside and out.

Sorry to hear the trouble your going through, but didn't you check out the car before you bought it? If you bought it like that after inspecting it, you should've had a good idea what it needed before hand. Sure ricers suck, but you willingly bought a riced out car.

I knew it before i bought it, but i got a good deal on it. It didnt stick out as a major thing to me since I know my wiring and figured it wouldnt be too bad. It was one of the cleaner Si's i saw for sale at the time and its been my favorit civic so i caved.

And Yes ricers are not cool by any means. At lease it didnt have a body kit on it.

Ill take some pics this weekend and once i get it fixed ill take some more.

it would cost more but would be easier to just replace it,
hell id rahter pull a dash out and replace the harness then trace every wire and do it again

Well i have an ac system sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. The guy who riced it also decided to pull the ac haha lovin it . Not!. I wanna get her around 210 whp all motor, but i might just cave and sell my bike, buy an extra civic then take out my b16 throw it in the other civic to daily drive and go k series. It all depends on money and time so we will see. Don't get me wrong i love boost, but i think an all motor build is more rewarding. Just me though.

sorry i didnt get any pics up i was busy installing fog lights and a tb and cia. my gauges just went out tonight so i need a quick fix, all fuses are good and the lights for the seatbelt and high beams and battery and everything work, so i dunno what the dumbass did but im in a bind. thank god i have a bike to ride to work

well im gonna try and fix this tomorrow... i have everything taken apart.

all lights are good... im gonna re re re recheck fuses and play with some stuff, either way the glow guages are coming out and ill find a way to light up my cluster
