I was stopping really fast so I didn't run a red and the '88 mazda 626 behind me didn't stop in time and creamed me at least 40mph. Repairs are at least 5k. even the lower subframe, where the control arm connects to, got bent by my new magnaflow muffler. oh well at least i'll get a new car now. Too bad my neck hurts like a bitch.

I doubt i'll part it out. If I did that then the insurance company wouldn't give me money for the car because I am keeping it. Something like that I think. Otherwise I'd love to part it out. Ls engine and tranny, rims SI hubs and brakes, GSR leather interior(except the driver seat, my body bent that). But i'm definitly going to look into it. But I doubt that will be happening.
I don't think I'm going to be getting a project car. I don't have the time or money. I'm thinking of just getting...don't hate me... a 98-99 firebird.

Firebird eh??? Its a car, nothing wrong with that
The reason i was asking is cause i noticed that your sunroof works. Mine doesnt. I was hoping i get your motor and rails but if your not parting it out nevermind. Good luck with the new car.

usualy they will give you the option to buy the car back super cheap as well as giving you the money for your loss. if you have that option, i woul dbuy it back for next to nothing and part it out. youde prolly make a bit of money back on it. if thats the case let me know also cause i can already see alot of stuff id want off it.

I agree, you should be able to buy it back for a few hundred buck.

Yeah, I bet buy back is less than $500. Which means you will still get the money you deserve minus the buy back and you will get to keep the car. If you have the car in your possesion right now I would just start stripping it. As long as there is some sort of motor under the hood and it rolls insurance usually won't say much. Just try not to make it look stripped.
And make sure to do all that after it is appraised or they come to an agreement on the value.

Hope that you recover - neck and back pain suck.
Sorry about your loss - Hopefully the insurance man will be nice to you.
Keep us posted if you are going to part it out.

If you part it out I'll buy your front bumper and hood if they are in good condition...
