I have a 92 civic Ex V tec and ive had it for 1 year and a half and ever since i bought it its had this problem that to start it i need to jiggle the key a certain way and when ive taken it to get something done to the car no one could ever start the car. does anyone here know what might be wrong with it and could you give me the name to the specific parts i need to buy to fix it. You guys helped me with my emissions problems thanks maybe you can help me with this too lates.

Bad ignition switch. Common problem if you have one of those monster key rings with tons of stuff hanging on it.

Agreed. One thing you could do is search some junkyards to see if you can find the cylinder that the keys go into, preferably another cylinder that has keys in it at the junkyard. Just pull the ignition and swap it into your new one.

He won't need a whole lock cylinder to fix the switch, in fact it's easier to just replace the switch alone.

It'd be probably better to get a new cyl anyways, god knows how old the thing is, probably original one, take a guess on how many times the key has been pushed in and pulled out?

That's what I figured, that's why I was just thinking replace the whole thing. But yea just the switch itself I replaced in my old ford escort and wasn't THAT hard, but just for preventative maintence I would probably suggest it.

Which wears out the soft metal key, not the lock cly. It's the way it was designed to work. There is no reason at all to go through the trouble to tap and drill out the self breaking lock cylinder screws, install a new lock cylinder and have mis-matched keys for the car when it's not even the problem in the first place.
