I'm trying to find out if a tranny i might buy is indeed a gsr tranny like the guy told me. The guy is a pathelogical lyer so I don't know if to believe him. Its stamped S80 but I know it could still be an ls tranny. Could someone point me in the right direction or let me know. I've searched for at least 30 min. and can't really find anything. The stamped tranny number is S80-3014873 and the vin number plate on the tranny is JH4DB8596T5000769. I looked at a vin decoder to try and figure out what kind of vehicle it came out of to see if that could answer my question but I was having a hard time understanding it and was not able to get it. Thanks.

I don't think tranny SN are available to the public for identity. I'd be careful, there is more than one S80
