Figure out where the pssssst is coming from. You can spray soapy water around the head gasket area the exhaust area and the intake area and see where the bubbles are coming from

you need to do a wet and dry compression test do a dry on the cylinder in question them do a wet test by adding a small amount of oil to the cylinder if the comp is up signifigantly them bottom end if no signifigant change then its a head/valve issue

Re: (jimmy o.)
i did that already with the old head i had on there. i had to wipe out the oil in the cylinders when i did that.
so its def a head/valve issue

Re: (thebleek)
Do a leak down test, If its coming from the intake valve you will hear air escaping from the t/b, if its the exhaust valve you will hear it coming out of the exhaust(dunno about full exhaust), and if its rings you can pop your dip stick out and listen.

Spray Nine is wonderful stuff if you want to check something for leaks.

Re: (94EG8)
if ti is a valve problem no amount of soapy water or other chemical is going to show bubbles. the only way to do it is pressurizes the cylinder in questions with it at tdc of its compression stroke and listen for air escaping from the exhaust or through the tb ( tb means intake valve problem exhaust means exhaust valve problem)

if you can hear it escaping then most likely a bent vavle but try pouring a tiny bit of oil down the cylinder with bad comp and see if it goes back up
