Default i am about to do a tranny swap

i was told i dont need any gasket sealant for the engine swap where the tranny mounts to the engine block.but i can see there is some silver type of paste gasket sealant on the engine and tranny now because they were never torn apart before.so i am confused?do u ise those rtv kind of gasket seal paste or ?
please advice .thanks

No sealant of any kind is needed between the enigne and trans.

You can use it if you are so inclined though.

the only thing you will be sealing is air
now on the other hand there is sealant on the trans case that holds the gear stack. dont open that part.
