i would let some out. being a little over full is ok, but not an extra quart. have you run the motor yet? let some out before you do to be on the safe side.

some road race guys run extra oil.. but i donno about a whole quart. i used to have a motor that burned soo much oil i would just keep putting a half too much it (it was taking over a quart and a half a week...lol). it ran like that for 2 years...

drain it all out then throw the right amount back in, that way you wont have to guess and check or get full of oil tryin to put the drain plug back in

so, you dont know how much oil to put in your car. then, knowing you messed up, you go out and stomp on it huh? good idea.

i cast my vote for blown rear main. anyone else?

dude, you definitely need to drain out all the oil and actually figure out how much you should be putting in there. The first thing you're going to do is find that your car will start pouring smoke because of the oil that is most likely entering the cylinder. then you're car is done.

Just drain your oil and start over. Too much oil is dangerous for your engine. Remember this rule of thumb it is better to have to little oil than too much. You'd rather be a quart low than a quart high, trust read about the effects of too much oil.

oil is not black smoke, its blue water is white and black is gas.
