Default hydraulics

Does a good set of hydraulics handle as well as a set of nice coilovers when installedwell, or are the benefits merely for appearance?
Just wondering caus eim going upstsate NY for college and have to take my civic with me...the winters gonna hurt it, i was thinking i couls use them to raise the car while in snow...but i dont want to sacrifice handling.

You're in the wrong place man. Sell the civic and go buy an old *** impala or caddy if you want to throw the juice on it.

Honda + Hydro's =

I don't think that question even belongs on this web-site.

No, they will not handle like C/O's

jNo, don't get hydros, you are drastically sacrificing handaling when going to a hydro controlled setup. If you a re worried about ride height go with coilovers or springs that won't lower you much, like H&R OE's. There is a reason people keep asking the questions on what springs and struts to get so their car won't handle like a lowrider...

Hydros and Hondas do not mix. Acutally, hydros and performance do not mix. Imagine having 8 batteries and two hydraulic pumps in your trunk. Only hoopties can fit all that in. I'm not saying it can't be done but it's definitely for "show" and not "go." If I had a 64 Impala though, it would have 16 switches in it.

Just get some coil overs... that way you can raise it in the winter, and lower in the summer... You don't want to have to spend the money on hydraulics or the maintenance of them.. and yes you will lose plenty in handling...
