hydraulic for rear hatch on 92 cx

I got my car painted, and now my rear hatch wont stay lifted up, the hydraulics just lets it fall back down... do you guys know what could be causing this? any help is GREATLY appreciated.

They finally bit the dust???

You can probably get new ones at a junkyard for short money.

thats kinda what i was thinking, but its just kinda weird because before they worked perfectly, and now, they dont work with a crap, you lift it up and then it immediately falls down and pretty fast.. but who knows, I guess Ill look into getting some new ones.

You think it had anything to do w/ whether or not they baked the car when they cured your paint??? Maybe the heat screwed w/ the gas in the struts.

Just another thought...

That's a very good point. High heat could have caused the seals within the lifts to blow due to the pressure.
