Hydraulic Clutch Pressure problem
A few days ago I started losing pressure in the clutch and had to pump the pedal to get the pressure back. I assumed it was the slave cylinder as it has happened before. The next day it got worse to where I had to pump the clutch multiple times at every red light. So I bought a slave cylinder on the way home and changed it. Once I got it bled, it seemed to be working fine. I drove it around, it had full pressure, checked it an hour later and still had full pressure.
Next morning it had lost pressure again. I pumped the pedal a few times and it was back to full pressure. I went to class with no problems. Hour and a half later, still full pressure and I went home. Another hour and a half later I left for work. Still no problems but after 5 hours at work, it lost a bit of pressure again and I pumped the pedal twice and it was back up to full pressure again. Next morning it had lost pressure again. What is up here? Did I bleed it wrong or is something else broke? Thanks for any enlightenment.

I bet you it's the Clutch Master Cylinder cuz I had the same problem before.
Look at where the clutch rod goes to the firewall and check for ANY leaks big or small where the rod goes in. Mine was barely leaking, I wasn't sure, but when I rubbed my finger on it there was a little oil. That's all it takes to have problems.
I got a used one at the junk yard for $20 and it's great now.
Good Luck and keep us posted.

Well, I don't think it's leaking any fluid cause the level doesn't appear to have gone down at all but I may need to check it again. I'll check my pedal and fluid when I go back out to my car (it's raining at the moment, I'll get to it later).

Well, it doesn't LOOK like it lost fluid but when I checked under pedal and I got this all over my hand
It was pretty wet so does that mean bad master cylinder?

Thanks!
Guess I need to call my brother for this one. I've had experience changing the slave before but not the master. I usually call my brother to help me whenever I do something to my car for the first time so I don't screw anything up too bad.

Re: (Techy)
Am I good or what?? LOL
Yeah your fluid level does not need to go down noticably for the Clutch system to be defective. What you are losing is pressure in the system.
I'm glad you figured it out. If you need an easy walk through on the replacement, I'd be glad to post for you. Or get your Bro to do it (Easiest option )
Cheers!!
