Humming noise from air conditioner area?
Loud humming from air conditioner compressor area when son was driving our Civic LX '98. Also wants to stall a little and lurching when compressor is on... drive belt looks a little frayed with fibers showing - - could it be this alone, or could compressor be going? Any way to test compressor? 115,000 miles. Thanks!

compressor could be "FROZEN" as in it is locked up when ac button is push...thus cause EXTRA drag on the engine causing it to "LURCH"
