Default HUGE THROTTLE CABLE PROBLEM...NEED HELP FAST PLEASE

I bought a 94 civic ex 2-dr with supposedly a 1993 GS-R block (b17a1) with a '99 Civic Si head on it....when i bought it, the throttle cable was frayed and eventually wouldnt get enough pull from the throttle anymore..so i asked the kid who owned it what throttle body/intake/throttle cable i would need and he said it was a 99 civic si cable, which makes sense to me....so i went to the honda dealer and asked to order an Si one and it was on backorder so i ordered a Del Sol DOHC VTEC cable instead because the ex-owner also told me that a del sol vtec one would fit length-wise as well on the car....so it came in today and it is too long on the engine just like the integra ls and ITR cables i tried on it earlier...now im wasting so much time and money trying to get the right throttle cable that will fit and work perfectly on my car and i need the car for school...so can somebody please help me with this problem because i keep getting screwed after buying cables since i cant get the right one...which one will fit my car?? all three that ive tried so far have had too much slack to be the right length even after tightening both nuts all the way to shorten it...and i havent tried the Civic Si one yet because it was on backorder.... by the way, the way my throttle cable goes is left into the throttle body instead of right like most hondas...in other words, the throttle cable is connected on the top-right of the throttle instead of the bottom-left, if that makes any difference...thank you so much if you can help me, I'm stuck (do you think i should just order the 99 si one even tho its on backorder....will it fit? cause i thought the del sol and si ones were interchangeable according to the ex-owner, but apparently theyre not)

also, i still have the original frayed cable, if there was a place where i could give it to sumone and they could compare it to the exact right one so that its easier, i would...but the dealer couldnt do it so i dont really know where else i could bring the original, but hopefully one of you guys know the right one that i have to get so i can hopefully get this over with and get my car back on the road fast, is there any easy way to shorten a throttle cable even more so that it is the perfect length, since i have integra ls and del sol cables to work with that are a little too long to fit?..thanks a million

well i mentioned earlier that it goes that way on my car...what do i do?
like, why would the throttle cable go that way in my car...whats the reason it would be like that? the way u see the ls cable in the pic now is the way it has to go to be connected correctly..thats just the way it is on that engine..but i dont know why

ps. only one more post allowed for me today i think so i hope someone can answer this before my posting is gone

your missing throttle cable brackets. 2, one on the intake mani and one on the strut tower bar.

yeah but ur not listening..im saying that the throttle cable cannot go that way so that brackets hold it down in the manifold...look at mine in the pic, the way its set up is taht the throttle cable has to go out to the left instead of the right, so i cant use brackets on the right side...is there a way to change it so that the del sol one i got will be shortened and fit right? is there a way to modify or change the throttle body or throttle pull thing so that the cable goes out the right instead? what can i do?

Looks like previous owner had it rigged through the firewall on the wrong side, it should be coming out the firewall like in andres pic, to the right of the brake booster. You should be able to get an itr or gsr cable through the correct firewall hole and use a itr cable bracket ($15 at inlinefour.com) and that should do it. Good luck.

im not sure but it looks like a gsr throttlebody. you will need to get a itr cable and the round thing that the cable hooks up to.

Yeap...looks like the original owner used a GSR bracket which is completely incorrect. You will need a ITR bracket and it will bolt on in the middle of the intake manifold.

okay...if i have to get the itr cable and bracket...what do i do about the brass colored round thing that the cable connects to and pull? thats still about 180 degrees the wrong way (the little hole for the cable is on the bottom right of the circle instead of the top left)....do i have to get a new throttle body? cause i dont think i can just easily turn around the round thing to make it work.

what can i do to fix it all pretty easily? the best way obviously is to somehow make everything going the right way (cable coming out of the firewall on the right side of the manifold and attaching to the circular throttle plate by wrapping around the bottom going up the top-left where the eye-hole is for the cable to connect to, but i cant do that because my brass throttle plate thing is turned about 180 degrees counter clockwise which sucks)

well you don't ahve to reply but like everyone else said you need the proper brakets. Or if you wanna go ghetto like I first did when i put in my swap zip tie it to something to hold it tight till you get it figured out.

first of all..what is the part called? ( the brass plate that the throttle cable connects to under the hood??) and also, why would it have been turned like mine is in the first place since i believe no acura or honda engines even come like this?

Go to inlinepro.com and purchase your parts there. Throttle cable, bracket. Your throttle should loop in front of your intake manifold not behind it.

lol i dont think anyone is catching what im saying in every single post...the brass circular plate thing attached to the throttle body that the cable connects to under the hood (throttle pedal), is turned upside down on my car so that the eyehole for the cable's end is on the bottom left instead of the top left like it has to be for the cable to come from the right front side of the manifold...HOW CAN I CHANGE THAT PLATE (throttle pedal) so that it is turned the correct way?

The throttle wheel is incorrect, swap it out with any B16/ITR or even D-series throttle wheel. They are all interchangable.

Or the expensive way would be to buy a B16/ITR throttle body

Its cheaper if you just got a gsr cable. If you do you won't need to change the brass plate and by new brackets for the cable that sits on the intake manifold. Another option is buy a crv cable. The crv cable will work but you will have a long loop of cable in the engine bay.
