huge problem with b16, no vtec, bad idle, etc
well all before today
everything was going fine with my car
did a new swap, vtec was louddd...no knock sensor.
had to replace a couple of things, timing belt and water pump and thermostat.
well,
today i i got the timing belt changed and water pump, and thermostat, and valve cover gasket.
all honda parts except timing belt.
when i changed the thermostat, THERMOSTAT would NEVER open and car started to heat up.
went out bought another one from pepboys instead(before was honda) and still didnt open up.
so now im still using my old one that stays open.
problems all of a sudden are...
1) NO VTEC (checked the vtec solenoid, power is great)
2) CARS IDLE GOES UP AND DOWN (1000 - 100) WHEN I TURN ON HEADLIGHTS.(checked alternator, its not bad)
3) A CLICKING NOISE BY THE DISTRIBUTER.
4) Cel KEEPS POPPING UP.
car is converted to obd1. so i still have sensor issues like with the intake sensor. if not connected, cel comes up.
what do i do?

This sounds like maybe a grounding problem, i am trying to think of something that could cause all these things and that would be the first and about the only thing i can think of have you gone through and checked all your grounds really well

Sure the timing is dead on? If it happened right after you did the timing belt i would start there. Try jumping the vtec solenoid ?
