HUGE HELP!!

2000 Honda Civic DX sedan

hey guys
need help getting this car back on the road again. Been fixing the car little by little (new battery, distributor, wires, spark plugs, radiator, hoses, coolant flush and oil change) now here is the killer. I think my head gasket is cracked cause the exhaust is blowing out white smoke and coolant levels are low and oil is milky, which is ok cause I’m going to be fixing it this week. The real head breaker is that every time i try to turn on the car it just cranks and cranks and when it finally turns on, the idle is real bad and it sometimes stalls. I have a few codes of misfires, but will the cracked head gasket be the issue that’s causing the idling, the stalling, and misfire codes. HUGE HELP!! About to throw in the towel. Thx guys.

Re: HUGE HELP!!

The bigger question: Why are you trying to run it when you know that the head gasket is jacked? It will cause some problems.

A blown headgasket is a cheap, easy fix. Cracked sleeves...well, that's time for a new bottom end.

Re: HUGE HELP!!

You really should quit trying to start it while it's sucking so much coolant. You are skirting the possibility of hydro locking the motor and bending a rod.

You need to pull the head off an begin inspecting to confirm it's just the head gasket and not something worse.
