hub removal for wheel studs!!
does anyone know how to remove the hub, i stripped two wheel studs and snapped another one. i've already taken off the axle nut, but tried to pull out the hub and it doesn't come out. by the way, this is a 95 toyota corolla, i know its not eg related but this forum gets the most hits so i guess i would try it here. i have the rotor, caliper, pads off already. anybody know? anybody changed wheel studs before.?

anybody.........
ok just did a quick search, is it true that you have to take the whole steering knuckle off and have a shop press out the bearing? then press out the stud once the hubs off?

leave the hub on the car, take off the axle, and get something called a slide hammer. You need two good studs. If the bearing is really in there, you need to take it to a shop to press it out. YOu have to press out the bearing to get out the hub.

Re: (tominos)
i have always cut the old ones really short than just tapped the piece out with a hammer and chisel. for installing the new one i cut out the little piece of dust shield on the front side of the bearing to permit access and then i take the new stud and cut a flat spot in one side of the head so it will give me just enough to fit it in to the hub then i just tighten it up with a few washers on it to pull it through the hub and done if you have any further questions or need pics pm me ive done this many tmes before and have had no problems matter of fact i just replaced all my studs on my 89 with skunk2 extended studs and i did the fronts just that way. tommy.

Yes, you can reuse the bearings.
To put the hub back on, you just gently tap it back in.
