Default Hub Centric Rings ? Same for all wheels

Hub Centric Rings: Are they the same for all wheels ? I broke one and I wanted to know if I can get one at any wheels retailer or it's specific for each type of wheels ?

Thank you

Did you buy the wheel at retail? Then just go back to the same place. If you have the receipt that show the part number that would make it so easy. If they don't sell the wheel anymore, then they should be able to still find it. Manufactures only will make a few rings for all their wheels. So many wheels actually have the same ring.

I was able to get some replacement rings for mine that broke, and a few back ups for my wheel which have been discoutinued for maybe 5 years now.

But to answer your question, NO not all rings are the same.

That's why I hate just about all shops that rotate tires for me. I have one ring GONE, and no one said anything to me, until one strange day I felt like rotating the tires myself. That's how I had to get my replacement rings.

You'll be fine as long as you don't race, rip a corner, or drive very fast. Granny style encourage Just kidding.

You will be fine. Most people don't even use them.

As long as you torque the wheels down properly, you don't have to have rings.

The question was already answer, and don't mean to make it a bigger issue than it is. But for the fun of it.

In normal driving, it doesn't matter as you can't feel it at normal speed. In theory, the wheel is never center using the lug nuts to hold it. It just sort of rest on threads. When a wheel is mounted on the hub, there will always be some "play" in the lug hole before tighten it. Without the play, it would be very difficult to put on a wheel through the thread. The weight of the wheel will always cause it to rest on one side of the thread, instead of the perfect center. You would have to float in space maybe to do align it center. One can torque it right where the lug apply even pressure, but it's still not geometrically center on the axes.

IMO, hub centric rings are a must.
