HowTo: Leakdown Test / Compression Check
Hi Guys,
Did a search for leakdown information but couldn't find much information. I even search my other forums with no luck... so I'm back here with a post to get my questions answered by you honda guru's out there.
I have tracked down how to get a compression check done and that's going to be my first step. (Here's a great article that's very close for more Honda's, http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...t.php). My motor has been running fairly poor since I had to retap my sparkplug hole and am not sure if it's related. But wanted to see the compression and leakdown tests to see how my motor stands up.
Does anyone know of any good guides I can read up on regarding doing my own leakdown test?
Update: Here's a link on making your own leakdown tester, http://vmaxoutlaw.com/tech/leakdown_tester.htm
Any other information guides on the subject would be helpful, Thanks!

Re: HowTo: Leakdown Test / Compression Check (Matrix_Zero)
its pretty simple. hook up the leak down tester between a compressor and your block. regulate the air going into the cylinder at 100psi, and the other gauge reads the cylinder pressure (which will be less than the regulated pressure from the compressor).
[((regulated pressure ~100psi)-(pressure in cylinder))/(regulated pressure)]*100=leak down percent. hope this helps
