Default How's the a/c in your 5th gen civic?

I would like to know how good (cold) the a/c is in you guys egs my experience so far is they only work good at night and don't do so great during the 100+ degree days here in Texas. I was gonna go thru and replace everything but I'm not sure it's worth it since all the egs I've had the a/c was pretty weak in (I never replaced parts tho)

Any imput is appreciated

Start by checking whether the condenser fan runs and the condenser is clogged with bugs. If those are fine, use a manifold gauge set to check whether the refrigerant is low.

Mine works just fine. On the 100+ days it takes a minute to cool but it gets there eventually and stays cold.

I wasn't troubleshooting a problem I just wanted to get imput on weather to rebuild or ditch my a/c system.

Anyway most of the problems I had on previous cars was at red lights...

I am trying to focus this thread in a technical direction as this is a tech forum. The question of whether to rebuild/repair is answered by troubleshooting, as stated in my response. The information you provided suggests that there is a problem with your A/C system. How it is behaving is not normal. The question of ditching is a personal choice and is not technical, which would warrant closing this thread.

i usually turn it on and crank everything to max, and about 2-3 minutes later i'm nice and cold
to speed things up since everyday after its been outside for a while its baking inside i drive with the windows down and it tends to speed things up

my question/poll is how good does every ones heaters work because mine works amazingly well better then most cars i've been in
heck it was 33 degrees outside and i cranked up my heater in about 3 minutes later i was nearly sweating is anyone elses heater like this or just me?

sorry to thread jack you

Then don't. This thread was about A/C. Your question is about your heater-which seems to not have a problem. Best to start your own thread.
