How to you remove the brake switch?
What's going on? I'm having a problem with my taillights constantly staying on and the break lights not working. I've tried searching and found that it could be the brake switch is bad. Can someone tell me how to remove the brake switch? I looked under there last night and saw the switch, but was unsure how to remove it. Do I need to remove the plastic covering under the dash to get to it easier? I just spoke with the dealership to find out the price of the switch and he informed me that the switch might not be bad, just the plastic piece? I'm not quite sure what he's talking about. Also read that it could be that my headlight switch is bad. I'm also having a problem where my headlights will only turn on when I put the high beams on. I've changed the bulbs already thinking that this could be the problem, but I had the same problem. Any help or information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did someone try and steal your car?
sometimes when thievs pop the ingition switch they do dmg to the lighting switchs and other mechanisms and can only use the highbeams for lighting

Re: (TooManyTickets)
Isn't the ignition switch on the opposite side from headlight switch or are they all connected together? I recently bought the car, so I'm not sure of previous encounters. What's weird is that the high beams really aren't bright or blinding. I don't know.

not exactly the best with electrical but i belive the highbeam switch is located in the ajustable column. i hate electrical... ill be happy to rebuild the entire top half of my motor however if its electrical ... ill save the stress and take it to a shop

Yea I wish I could, but funds are low and this is my only car for right now. Maybe tomorrow I can look at it or try to find some information about it. Thanks

For the brake switch, I think you may be referring to #16.
22813 016 SWITCH ASSY. $27.38
I hate OEM prices... $28 for a damn basic electrical switch. You just have to take the nut off on the backside of the switch, disconnect the electrical harness, and reverse to reassemble.

Thanks for the reply. I saw that it was missing the piece to push the button. I put a screw there and it's working now.
