How to test oil pressure light
i just installed my oil pressure sensor the car used to have a gauge, so now i want to test that the light will come on when it should. I don't really know how that works exactly. So i was wondering what an easy way to test it would be, if someone has a pinout for a 93 coupe gauge cluster i could test continuity. Maybe if i just need to give voltage to the wire coming off the sensor or ground it im not exactly sure how that triggers the light to come on but i know one of you guys will know.

Re: How to test oil pressure light
its not a sensor, its just a switch (1 wire). it screws into the block, getting a ground. its a normally closed switch, so it's sending a ground signal to the ecu when there is no oil pressure (or when the engine is off). the gauge cluster light gets +12 volts when the ignition key is turned on. if it has ground from the switch, it lights up (it should turn on when you turn the car on). when you crank the car, oil pressure rises, opening the switch, ungrounding the light, turning it off. hope that helps
