how to tell if a motor is in good condiotn after it is already out of the car?
like the title says guys im about to buy a 2000 jdm b16 motor from some guy and its already out of the car and jus sitting in his gargage. i wanted to kno if there was a way to tell if this motor is in good running condition even thought its already out of the car?
also how can i tell if its a legit 2000 jdm b16? thanks guys

Pull the dip stick, feel the oil at the end and smell it too. Pull the VC and peer inside. Any strong coolant smells is a good sign of a blown HG. If possible, remove the oil pan and inspect the oil pickup for metal shavings.

to check if it's a legit jdm b16 check the engine stamp. it's on the front of the block to the left of the header. if it says b16a with no number behind it then it's a jdm motor. if there is a number it's usdm
