Default How to Swap a VX Motor in a CX model ( how to wire the Vtec \)

Hello, I am new to the world of Civic's and I'd like to know what I would need to swap a VX engine into a CX. I don't have any sort of performance in mind obviously, just MPG. How do I wire the Vtec (where?, in what pin at the ecu.) By the way I'm using a P28. Also there is some kind of valve with a plug next to the vtec how I wire that? Thank

A word of caution. If you use a P28 ECU, you are not going to get the full economy benefits of the D15Z1. In fact, you will probably be better off sticking with your stock motor if you do not use the P07 ECU and five wire oxygen sensor. Even if you get a good tune on that P28, you will have neither the precise fuel control the P07 offers with the five wire sensor, nor the lean burn in closed loop mode during cruise. So either use the P07, keep your D15B8, or do another swap like a D16Z6. Because the way I see it, a D15Z1 run with a P28 will probably do little to no better when it comes to MPG compared to a D16Z6, yet produce ALOT less power.

Ok well I''ll get a P07 ad the 5 wire o2 sensor. Then How do I wire the Vtec ? (where?, in what pin at the ecu.) Also there is some kind of valve with a plug next to the vtec how I wire that? Thanks. We already got the motor is a jdm D15B VTEC-E. Remember I have a CX

Can someone answer this guys question? I am looking at something similar. Essentially i am researching what must be done to get a D15z1 Vtec to work in a non vteck 92-95 DX/LX/EX. Most the info in here is specific to enhancing power and not fuel economy so its been a little difficult to find what I am looking for. VX's are so rare that I know I'm gonna have to build my own.

D15z1 Engine
Any D series tranny
D15z1 ECU
5 wire o2 sensor
What else? Wire harness mods?

Thanks,

Steve
