Default How to: Stuck Brake Lights

If your brake lights are stuck on even with the keys out of the car check this out before anything else. There is a plastic piece to stop the pedal that you need to replace. Check the floor of your car and you will find the old piece probably broken like this (Don't bother gluing it together because it wont hold). The new part number is 46505-SA5-000 and it costs around $2.50 at the local Honda dealership. All you do is get up under your dash where the brake pedal is and look for the hole where the old piece fell from, push the brake pedal back and snap the new piece in and you're done.

The picture is clear, shows you the location of where that plastic tab goes, shows you the brake switch and it also shows you what that plastic tab does.

The representative I spoke to at a local Honda Dealership said that the old blue ones are POS and will crap out sooner or later. I HIGHLY suggest everyone replace the plastic piece for the brakes AND the clutch. The one for my brakes broke on me in May, and the one for my Clutch broke just last week. They are both the same piece, but it's a bit harder to reach the hole for the clutch. I'm not sure if the Gas pedal has this piece too?

Gas pedal does not have a sensor on there, The brake and clutch pedals have a total of 3, depending on if you cruise control.

The brake and clutch pedals both have switches. The gas pedal does not. I don't see why there would be one on the gas pedal.

Are you sure?

Hmmm, I may be looking at the wrong picture because in the pic I'm seeing there's a three headed dragon shooting flames out of the center head and then there's a knight on fire sitting on a horse.
