Default how to stop coil-over sleeves from sliding down?

I have Tom Motorsprt coil-over sleeves on my 99 coupe and now I'm looking to upgrade struts. On the rears there is a pocket under the factory spring and even if you tighten the set screws down, they still slip down there where you cannot get to the screws. How do you people get away with putting sleeves on your cars and not have them slide down? Thanks in advance!

if you are talking about the cup where the stock springs sit and the "hole" in the middle of them. they are supposed to sit in there, tightening the set screws down so hard that it pinches the shock body may damage the shock. they are only used to keep the sleeve centered on the shock

but how are you supposed to tighten them down when they are inside the cup. If you don't tighten them, the sleeve will just bounce up and down.

the reason I'm asking is because I'm ordering some KYB G2's today and I don't want to have to alter them just for the sleeves. Thanks!

you have it backwards, you actually need to rotate the sleeve so the screws are more on top of the strut, and away from the cup
