How to run a larger diameter exhaust off a greddy downpipe?
Ok this is a potentially stupid question, but ive been searching for an hour or so and just cant find an answer.
Right now, i have the Greddy SOHC turbo kit on a 94 Civic Si. it has the stock greddy downpipe, cat, and exhaust. The dp is the same diameter of the exhaust, which i believe is 1.75".
Now what i want to do is run a test pipe and 60mm exhaust. The Omni Power test pipe on passwordJDM says "US Spec = 60mm diameter used with stock and aftermarket systems".
So.... a 60mm pipe will bolt up to a 1.75" (~45mm) downpipe?
is there something im missing here or will this work?
thanks

A word of avice to you is to ditch the crappy Greddy down pipe and at least go with something that is 2in or more. I build one retaining the cast bend that was 2.5,in , it made a huge difference in the power, this was also coupled with a 2.5 in exhaust system. If it does not fit , you can always buy a reducer, then weld a new flange on it.

i would like to upgrade the dp eventually, but at this point, i just cant really afford that.
if i was to get a 2.5" exhaust now, probably the kteller one, how would i go about hooking that up to the stock dp? use a reducer? where can i get these?
thanks

You could either make one , or buy one from Burns Stainless. They have them in mild or stainless.

You are over-analyzing the situation here.
The Greddy downpipe bolts to the stock cat. If you replace the cat with a new cat or test pipe that is designed to replace the stock unit (as a bolt-on item), you won't need any adaptors, reducers, etc.

i guess your right...
now that ive looked at the picture of the test pipe more i can see how it is smaller on one side.
so anyway.. just to confirm everything...
if i get this:

all will be well?
thanks for the help, i just want to make sure this is all correct before i spend $500.
