Default How to roll fenders?

Well i did some research and i found that alot of people used baseball bats. Im just not sure how they really did it with the baseball bat? Also some people used a hammer to hammer the lip in. Which way would be safer? i know either way isn't safe for the fender or paint but which way is the easiest? If i can't do it by myself then i might take it to a shop. I just dont want to waste money on something i can do myself.

ive seen the bat method done, it takes time, but what ever you do, make sure to use a heat gun to lightly heat up the area your gonna be workin on, it'll help the paint not to chip

what i did was used like a part of a phone book. I would jack the car up, and then put like half of the book on the tire, then SLOWLY lower it so the book would be smashed into the fender. DO THIS CAREFULLY!!! I've never heared of anyone else doing this before, but it worked really well for me. then I would move the book around the tire and use more and more pages. The problem i had with teh hammer is i missed and put a dent in my fender

So the tire won't rub on the fender on really lowered cars.

For me, it seemed to be a lot easier to do it that way. I mean, it took me like two hours to do it all. You dont hurry, take your time, I can't stress enough how its important to go slow. How is using a bat the "right thing"? Dude, they make machines for it, technically that would be the right way to do it. I was super carefull to make sure that the outside of the fender didn't bow out, I even had a spotter lol.

put masking tape over the whole fender, keeps the paint from cracking.

I did the bat before, but was going to be painting the car anyways.

I had to cut the inside of my rear fenders lip a little bit when I lowered my car 2.5" with 15x6.5" slips (205/50/15 tires). It fit fine after I lowered it but as soon as I put the camber kits on and set it back to stock camber, the tires touched the fender like mad. Makes sense though.
