I have a 99si, and one of my front wheel studs was stripped. I have removed all the other components, but cannot figure out how to get the rotor off. I dont see any more bolts or anything, i have removed the caliper, and the crush nut on the spindle. has anyone done this b4, ne ideas? and also, who makes the best service manuals for this car??? thanks evryone...bump for newb to h-t, but long time honda dude

Theres two philips screws on the rotor near the studs. You have to get those off. Be careful sometimes they are on tight and require the use of an impact driver or else they will strip and you are screwed. Once those two are off the rotor should come off with little effort.

already got those off too, it doesnt budge, its like there is something else holding it on. i did the same thing on my del sol....and it was much easier. i didnt know if there was ne thing different, or if i shud just take a mallot to it...ne more suggestions or comments....HELP PLEASE!!!

Take the caliper bracket off, there are 2 bolts on the back of it you need to remove.

You mean the Helms manual?

yes, Helms manual, 65$, 1800 pages. Worth it because 65$ is worth one hour of labor at the Honda dealer, hehe.

HINT to anyone taking off a rotor. If you dont have a impact screwdriver, use a hammer and chisel on one of the sides of the + in the phillips head part of the screw (right termenology?) Might **** the screw, but itll get it out.

any ideas about how to remove part #13...that hub doesnt want to go ne where, and we dont have access to that split ring that it shows. thanks

Part #13 is a pad retaining clip from what i can tell.

Once the rotor is off you should be able to bend the dust shield back a bit and hammer broken stud out.
