How to remove cigarette smell from civic?
Hi guys,
I recently purchased a car, it is in immaculate condition except previous owner was a smoker any idea how to remove cigarette smell from car?
If I change the carpet and remove the seats will the smell be gone? as this will be a project car eventually or has the smell gone through the aircon system and am I stuck with it forever?
Any help would be great.
Thanks.

Or pay someone to use an ozone generator. It works, unlike febreeze and air fresheners. It might be 50-100$ but it is worth it and cheaper than putting a new air freshsner in every few weeks for a year.
I used meguiars odor eleminator, I found it at advanced auto. It killed the mustiness in my convertible for a good long while but it came back eventually. It doesn't mask like most things do, it legitimately removes odors (kinda.) But ozone generator is your best bet. That and a good steam cleaning of all upholstery and you'll be set.

I work at enterprise and what we do is we have a odor neutralizer that comes in a spray can, and its good for 2000 sq. Ft and we use the entire can in the car. Shoot some Lysol down the outside air intake and turn the blower motor on high. After 2 hours of sitting, vacuum the car and clean your panels and windows.

if you don't mind changing the carpet and stuff i'd do that. give you a chance to maybe die the carpet and make it look real nice.
