Hey guys, I'm thinking about pulling my B18C1 swap out of my hatch and putting it in storage, then selling my hatch. I'm thinking in about a year or two when $$$ permits buying another hatch and swapping it back in, how do I go about preparing my engine for a potential LONG *** Storage? Drain all fluids? Spray some WD40 into the cylinder walls? Lemme know thanks! I wanna make sure it will start back up and not seize on me in a year.

Drain all fluids, COMPLETELY.

Stick a sock or 2 in the intake manifold and throttle body (REALLY TIGHT).

Cover wiring harnesses in some plastic with duct tape (LOTS OF PLASTIC BAGS).

Pop valve cover and try to dry as much as you can.

Pull oil pan and dry as much as possible.

The main thing are the fluids and lines that carry fluid. Want to drain those so they won't corrode with time.

i would suggest an engine stand so that once you drain fluids through bottom you can flip motor over and dump out of passages. i would grind down whatever rust started tape up ceartain place and paint with engine enamel. then coat the head and cylanders with a thin coat of a thick oil(keeps rust off) then rap entire motor in giant plastic bag and tie it off.
