Default How is OBX quality?

Hey again guys. I was just curious as to everyone's experience with OBX products. Their price point is awesome, but before I buy anything from them I want to make sure it's not complete crap. I was thinking of getting their headers, intake manifold and LSD at least.

Thanks in advance.

There was a whole thread about people using their LSD's and not being able to get axles out of them once installed. I guess the problem is that the Cir-clip groove inside the LSD wasn't chamfered properly. This won't let the Cir-clip that holds the axle snout (and the entire axle) in the gearbox out no matter what...

I don't know if this problem was ever addressed by OBX or not...

OBX is alright. Their prices are between Poop and decent. I'd just save up a little bit more and get something decent/good instead. My $.02

I have one of their LSDs in my car. Before I installed it though I re-torqued the bolts and gave it a close visual inspection and I could see what looked to be a large metal shaving in the gears. Got a magnet and pulled it out and sure enough, it was a pretty big piece But it has been working good, only about 75 miles on it. Ive known 4 other people running these with no problems, including a 600+whp 10 second civic. If you got the extra cash to spare, buy Quaife

didnt you know? That is the HT way. A good portion of people who chime in with their $.02 havent actually used the product. they just regurgitate what they read on the internet.

If you are interested in their products, OP, then do some searches on here. I remember there was a HUGE OBX LSD thread on here. Spanned quite a few pages. As far as their header goes, why bother.

If you are considering OBX products then one can assume you are on a budget. A header and IM wont give you a significant boost in performance unless you plan on doing other things for an N/A build (in the case of the header anyway) which get exspensive. If you had the money to optimize your motor without boost or nitrous, then you probably wouldnt be considering OBX products in the first place.

Just my $.02 Take it for what its worth

What exactly do you mean about the washers? How does their position need to be changed?

it depends on the item... i would not trust a $300 lsd in a $1000 trasmission when the next lsd cost $1000.. stuff like fuel rails and fpr's thing that are not really complex i would say go for it.. think they make sway bars and stuff also not really complex and the ones that are 10x times price only give your marginly better proformance

i had some OBX stuff on my neon but none so far on the civic but i never had any problems and the underdrive pulley was awesome.....and on a side note its THEIR and HEADER, not headerS....we only have one, a SET of headers is TWO exhaust manifolds, not one manifold with four runners....

OBX...dont go there... Seen many threads on automotiveforums where people's OBX header keeps cracking. One had like 8 weldings. Boy did that thing look funny. He finally gave up and thew the damn thing out I think. I'll look for the thread. Nice pics on it too..

A buddy of mine has a OBX LSD and he's never had a problem with that.

I don't have experience with there other products though.

So I can't judge on them.
