Default How much is a theft recovery 2000 civic si worth

found one locally, they stole the swap. everythign else is perfect. the kid was going to make it his project, but now is selling already comes with ecu and gsr tranny. so all i would need to do is throw a b16 longblock in their. He is askign 4000obo. Assuming everything is as says, what would this be worth with a b16 in it. so what would a running 2000 civic si be worth with a theft recovery title.

would either buy to keep or sell, not sure yet......just wondering
please let meknow , i know that its not going to be exact, but let me know what u think, i just blue booked it and it was 11,000 on kbb.

I have no idea, I don't think a theft return car is worth 4k without a motor, but maybe thats just me. Good luck with the find.

i wouldn't buy anything with a salvaged title. my buddy bought a 99 Ex Coupe that had flood damage done to it, and the title was salvaged. he bought it for 3800.00 and I told him he would get 3k out of it if he tried to sell it, well the time came to sell it, and he asked like 6000.00 for it. Low low miles, but the flood damage killed him, and he only got like 2800.00 for it. No one would buy it b/c of a salvaged title. In my opinion, you could have it up and rng for about 6k...but you would just be losing money in a bad investment. my .02

Welcome to the car hobby.

If there is nothing wrong with it now, do it up. It's rediculous to worry about what you can sell the car for. If you like it and it seems to be a fair price, congrats on the new car.

i would offer him 3 grand and let him argue you up.....

but no, if your looking for a way to get some quick profit this is prolly not the way.....now, if your looking for a clean si for fairly cheap that you can get as a nice tuner, i would go for it

here is teh post from my local forum

I bought this car from a friend of mine as a little project, but never have the time or money to finish. The car is a theft recovery and had the motor and trans stolen.
The car is a 2000 SI with 38,000 miles, the interior is in perfect shape, no burns, tears,or fading. All power accessories work, has pioneer cd player. Dark tinited windows, The car was orginally electron blue but has been painted supersonic blue. Has GSR fat fives with two brand new proxie PX4's. It also has coilovers and adjustable camber kit.
The car comes with a 95 GSR tranny, radiator, hoses, a few mounts, all A/C stuff, engine harness, either a GSR or LS ecu, batt. and tray and other misc. stuff.

Asking $4000 o.b.o. or trade for ???????????

Not worth it. Doesn't have motor/tranny and doesn't even have oem paint.
