Nocturnal

Basically I got my 92 Si back last night. When I bought it, it already had a Integra ignition in it. It was previously stolen, and I guess the guy only had an Integra ignition so he used it. Anyways, I put my other 1993 Honda Civic Si key into the 1992 Si and I turned it. It kinda felt hard, but it was already hard because it was an Integra ignition. Anyways, I got to work, turned off my car, and I noticed my key would not come out of the ignition. I was like oh **** I put the wrong key in there!

So, I took it back home where I dismantled it with a hammer. Next thing you know the key is broken off inside. I also used a screw driver to rip apart the ignition area to try and pry off the entire ignition. When I noticed that it wasn't going to help I stopped. I can still turn on the car and drive it. But I need to know how much a new ignition set is going to cost me. A local shop quoted me roughly $375 for the part and labor from Honda. So, does this sound right? Also, what the **** do you call the entire ignition set? I went to all those Honda sites and I couldn't find **** about it.

man i got the same problem...i got a friend who works at a dealer..he can get the whole set for $211 ignition, both door locks, and hatch locks. i asked honda for my own fprice and they said if i wanted jsut the ignition it would be about 250-300..cant remmeeber..but they said for a set..it would be 350-400. find a friend who works at a dealer or get in touch with a tech @ honda!!!

my friend who works @ honda...is my h.s. counselours son. that was back in 99. but yea his dad hooked me up with a lil extra help..and i graduated!
