How much to pay for shocks?

I've decided that my car is going to need new shocks, seeing as how it's pretty bouncy and my friends hate riding in it. But, how much is too much to pay?

I've found the following on Ebay and was wondering if you guys thought any were good deals:

KYB AGX adjustables - $275 + $30 for shipping

Tokico HP - $240 - free shipping

KYB GR2 - $180 + $20 for shipping.

Any opinions?

If you're lowered more than 2"s I wouldnt recommend the KYB's..... I had the AGX adjustables with H&R race (2.7"F 2.3"R) springs and they blew after about a year.

lol, that's true, but it's starting to piss me off too (the ride quality, that is)

I would pay around 250-275 for shocks. Depends on the brand.

out of those choices... DEEEFINETELY the agx's.

you get so much more for your money.
you pay, what.. 50bux more?
and you get damping adjustability, and a shock that can handle at least SOME springrate.

the tokico HP's are a weak shock,
the GR2's are similar.. but some have had some really good experiences with them.

however the agx's are definetely a cut above.

HOWEVER, dont get crazy with the springrates,
and they will NOT tolerate being dropped too low(riding on the bumpstops etc).
and will blow out quick under bad sircumstances like that.

the gr2/hp's would blow out quicker tho

Definitely not all out race. This is my daily driver, so I don't need anything too hardcore. Just good enough to handle the streets of downtown Richmond without damaging the suspension too much.

konis arent race shocks,
just their the best, and handle race level situations the best,
and street level situations the best.

I used to have agx's.
now i have koni's.

the ride quality(comfort) of the konis is FAR superior to the agx's.

the ability of the konis to handle high springrates is also far superior to the agx's

illuminas are prettymuch the same as agx's.
