Topic says it all.

How much oil will go into my 94 Civic LX 4dr? The old owner (my mom) always payed the $150 for a freakin oil change.. but now it's in my hands, and it's ready for one.

Also, could someone give me a quick rundown on the difference in oil stuff? 10w-30? 10w-40 (that's whats currently in it)? what's the difference?

isnt the first number the weight when its cool and the 2nd number the weight once its warm... or something like that...

yea i know.. she goes to the worst place, she gets ripped off hella bad.. now that i'm in autoshop though she's been letting me do the work. those ******* did like $500 (another $500 labor) in replacement parts before going "hmm maybe it's a cracked head gasket"

I believe the engine oil capacity on that car is 3.4 qts.

And if you need to know stuff like how much transmission fluid, engine oil, air pressure in your tires etc... Try your owners manual, they have pretty good info in there.

Also, where the **** do you pay 150$ for a damn oil change?

thats super crazy for $150
the people probably told her it has "rice" oil on it to make it more powerful

No owners manual with the car

The place was suggested by my grandma.. but from what I've seen they do really shitty work. It's probably the same place that worked on my project car for autoshop. It's pretty hard to believe, but when the 86 Toyota Corolla was worked on, they didn't put in crank bearings for the 3rd piston rod. I yanked out the motor and took off the caps.. couldn't believe my eyes!

Damn I would warn all friends and family. Tell grandma that the place smuggles drugs in the tail lights of cars they work on and to beware.

it baffles me that people on here and put an intake on a car, and cant change their own oil..... i put roughly 3.5 quarts in my SOHC.

hey bud i know it sucks not to know what you need so here you go straight from the owners manual because im awesome and like to help you will be using 10w30 and only use 3.5 quarts if you are not changing your oil filter with the oil if you are witch i recommend doing all the time you use 4qrts your welcome 😉
