Sounds to be a little too much. Hell you can get a b16a total swap on this board for $2000.

thats a lot for the milage on the motor. i got my Ls motor with only 35k on it for about 700 and my b16 tranny for 450. which equals up to about 1150 or so. and i installed it myself. try hmotorsonline.com though, maybe better luck there.

good luck man

right you can get an LS with tranny for $300 to $500 the most so the rest is for labor.

Otherwise the rest of the process is exactly the same. Just make sure you get a P30 if you go with the B16.

Well this will probably be the first time I'd have to disagree with you man.

Let me tell you about Import auto Salvage:

I've been dealing with them since 1999 or so and I have never been dissappointed - ever. I've personally purchased:

1995 GS-R swap
B16A2 99 Si swap
1997 GS-R seats
3 sets of 4-wheel Integra discs with booster and m/c
99 Si wheels in mint condition

And friends of mine have totalled up at least 10 more swaps as well as my shop buying a handful more.

"But you can get a longblock for $500.00 and a tranny for $450.00"

Blah blah blah.
what about all the other **** needed to make the swap go off without a hitch?

Let me tell you what you'll get with IAS:

Engine
Transmission
Mounts
Engine harness
ECU
Axles with midshaft
All accessories such as alternator, distributor, starter, etc. etc.
Intake manifold with sensors
Shift linkage
All hoses UNCUT and even capped off! This means radiator, heater hoses, vacuum, etc. etc.
Exhaust manifold
Catalytic convertor
All sensors including o2A box of spare bolts and nuts from suspension, mounts, etc.
All shipped on a pallet neatly and ready for installation - no hunting **** down

So with a longblock and tranny you'd still need all of that **** I listed, and if you think it's cheap and easy to get that stuff, think again.

Along with the most complete swap you'll also get Larry Jr's and Randy's word that if you have any issues it'll be taken care of. They stand behind their products.

I have only seen ONE "legit" complaint about IAS ever on H-T, and it was because the guy was asking for the wrong damn booster/master cylinder combo for his 96 Civic and the brakes were locking up. It really wasn't their fault that he asked for the wrong ****. They still worked it out and sent him the right stuff.

I have seen plenty of complaints about their price, but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!

For those of you who say their prices suck I want links to other sites that sell the COMPLETE SWAPS for less than IAS. don't give some JDM bullshit either, because they are nowhere near complete like IAS sells them.

My buddy bought a gsr swap off IAS. Swapped it in and come to find out there is an internal tranny problem (not clutch). He calls up IAS. They send him a new one and he gets it a few days later free of charge. Two weeks later, his dizzy goes bad (randomly) they send him a new one for free.

Yeah but their prices suck, right?

Well their parts may not be dipped in gold, but their service is the equivalent of a customer service *******.

No I was just being sarcastic - I agree with you that their service rocks. That's why I called it a "customer service *******" since that guy said their parts should be plated in gold and you should get a ******* too.

Go ahead and list the links for us to buy the stuff from then, thanks.

List each part needed, the price, and who sells it for the aforementioned $1,500.00.

I mean I got a full B18C5 swap for under $2,500.00 (100% legit) but I don't post that as the regular price for them. I purchased a totalled complete ITR (car itself) from a local guy I knew who got rear-ended for $4,000.00 and sold everything but the swap. It was a ton of work, but in the end I saved a lot of money. I would not do it again though because I don't have the time to do such things these days.

You pay for service, quality, and also convenience(sp?).

If you want to do tons of legwork and run around to 5 different salvage yards hunting parts and pulling them yourself then yeah $1,800.00 might be unreasonable, but all the legwork is done and they back their parts.

You get what you pay for at IAS. They have the most complete swaps around. Every swap I bought from them had a full 30 day warranty, not just a start up warranty like everyone else. All three motors are still running to this day.

I bought a SIR2 B16A from HMO and it was all beat up. It took me 3 months to get my money back from Steve after he said to ship it back for a refund. I caught him in many lies during those 3 months. HMO has great prices but the service sucks.
