Default How much HP boost would a turbo add too.....

....

Basically what I want to ask, is that eventually there will be a turbo out for the 04 civic. I have the 127 HP engine, and I figure if a I get a stage 1 turbo(Still learning about turbos so please don't flame to much)....How much power will the turbo add?

And what the hell is the damn 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile for a stock 04 civic coupe?! I know its slow, but I still want to see it.

Keep in mind I want to imporve the preformance of my car....not make it a riced out POS.

try here: https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=16

i think your car goes from 0-60mph in like 9.x seconds, and runs the 1/4 mile in the high 16s - low 17s range.

how much power a turbo will add depends on your boost. theoretically, u get 10hp for every pound of boost. but of course.. u really never know how much power u make to the wheels, unless u get it on a dyno.

I've seen the way you drive. You've got a heavy foot. Amateurs don't use turbos!! You'll blow yourself to pieces!

This question is way over generalized. There is no way to tell you how much power you are going to make from a turbo, because literally speaking you could add between 20 and 600 whp at Xpsi. There are 100 variables that into play. Generally speaking though, a mild, non-intercooled turbo setup can be expected to make anywhere from 20-60whp.

also, for a question like that to be properly answered, are you going to be doing anything else to your car other then a turbo. Will you be upgrading the internals of your engine? Higher compression pistons, rods etc...

I have NEVER heard of a turbo only giving 20 whp...if so i wanna know when apc started making them...because if its that bad only 1 company can take credit

Way to get that post count up

Anyway, it looks like there's alot you'll need to learn before you pass over into the darkside. I'm not going to flat out assume you know nothing of cars or anything but, have you done any mods to the car so far ? What makes you want to go turbo when you just brought an 04 car ? What exactly do you want out of the car ? ( power goals and be serious with yourself and your driving habits ) ? If you do know what your doing and just need more knowledge on turbos ( and serious about it ), pick up a book called " Maximum Boost " by Corky Bell. Great book.

http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yele....html And take a look here for a quick brief overview on the operation of a turbo system. Also, search HEAVILY on here ( and go to archives, not just recently ). Oh, here goes a thread from here that this guy compiled on turbo information " https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=268110 " Spend time in the FI forum and talk with ppl that have setups that fit your goals.

Above all things, research, have fun, and be safe.

Thanks Sleepersown. You've been a bigger help than half the smartass responses people seem to want to give.

I'll start checking everything out you suggested.
