Default Del Sol boost gauge.

Hello, I am about to purchase a 96 Del Sol, it's got a boost kit pushing 11psi. It has a megasquirt ECU, and using the wastegate as a boost controller. It is the SI-Vtec. I am wanting to put in a boost gauge, greddy electronic boost controller, and an HKS turbo timer. Are these relatively easy to do?

Anyone link me some how to or something showing how to put these in?

They should be fairly simple if you know how to do wiring.. use the search button on how to do the wiring but they should come with generic directions on how to do it when you get the turbo timer and boost controller and you are also gonna need to retune if you are going to turn up the boost and make sure that the owner has all receipts on the build and photos for proof so you know he isn't ripping you off and just threw a turbo kit on a factory motor

Yeah that's what I have to make sure of heh. Gonna check for shaft play and all that good stuff also.

I bought the stuff used well the boost controller and the timer. Not going to up the boost right now, I don't know how much more it will handle. I have been told 15psi on a good tune, not sure though. 11 should be plenty until I go through and rebuild the entire motor.

But the boost gauge, I used the search and the word "boost" is used everywhere haha. I will search around some more though.

Would it be better just to take it and get it all installed professionally?

what brand boost gauge? most manufacturers have directions on their website.

if you are not planning to increase the boost then there is no point in adding a boost controller (granted you might get slightly faster spool, its make the car more complicated).

Swoosh boost gauge.

I am planning on upping it in the near future, and have the controller already.

Thanks for the pic though helps a lot

i assume its an mechanical gauge. if so you simply run a line from the intake manifold (tee into fpr, or other vaccuum line if needed). then hook up power and ground for lightling.

if its an electrical gauge then you need to install the boost sensor into the intake manifold and run all wiring as needed. im sure you can look at instructions from autometer or something as the general idea should be the same.

side note: make sure you are getting tuned properly before increasing boost pressure. the d-series is good to about 220-230whp on stock internals so be careful pushing past that unless you have aftermarket forged rods/pistons

Yeah it is mechanical. Yeah I am not upping the boost until I build the motor. Gonna do Eagle Rods, JE pistons, ARP head studs, supertech valvetrain. And push like 20 psi
