Icon2 How much effort is needed to replace a power steering belt?

The auto shop asks $57 for labor. Does it worth it?

All you do is loosen the bolts on the power steering pump so that you can pivot the pump back. The belt will come loose, just pull it off, replace and tighten the new one to the proper spec.

not that hard, but shop is probably charging you an hour labor - normal.

peice of cake.

$57 sounds normall, most shops charge a hour, even if it takes 20 minutes.

oh the wonders of taking book pay. if you worked at said shop.

but it won't take long. 15 minutes tops.
