hi there ppl i would like to know if there are any other places beside inlinefour.com and spoon.co.jp thats sell motors for an 5th gen hatch? if so lmk and how power does is it between the three they have which are:
B16A
B16B
B18C

Who cares it is a TOTAL waste of your money. You can make a B16 a lot faster for much cheaper than a basically stock spoon engine.

I went to HIN in Orlando in Spoon had a B16 for $6,100. A little pricey for me.

instead of buying a spoon b16 buy a jdm b18c a guy i knows fuly built b16 ran a 14.2 at the track. he was on 17's and his engine wasnt tuned or his intake manifold matched but you get the idea and my friends b18c with i/h/e ran a 14.2 first time on the track though

biggest waste of money ever yo newcomer do not buy a spoom motor wutever you do the motor blows. the power to money ratio is all bad. if you want a motor swap a k20 or go 2.0 gsr with something good like 14.5 on jun3 or something.

with 3 t66 turbos and a motec exhaust yO!.....

Spoon motors are not peak power engines, they are built to run on very hard for long periods of time IE RR or ER

take time build your own and enjoy it

I'd get the 2nd gen engine rather than the 1st gen engine if you can afford it. Otherwise you'll have to invest in a cable/hydro conversion kit and have some plug differences to deal with as well. Not to mention the fact that the 2nd gen engine is a bit more powerful. Get ahold of http://www.hmotorsonline.com and they'll get you a good price.

how many people on here said, spoon is shitty for 1/4 mile times. well no ****....

how many people have seen spoon in a drag event? none of you. Spoon is for N1 racing, (endurance) and circuit/road racing. Spoon is not designed for boosting or to be sprayed. Its a very repudiable motor for all motor N1 racing.

N1 is for endurance. If you are gonna be a serious autocrosser or race in the honda challenge H1 class, get a spoon motor. If you want to spend 6 grand on just a mootor, and wat to drag it, try places like http://www.jgenginedynamics.com or some place like that.

No ****. Do you honestly think that the rest of us didn't know that? I highly doubt the topic's creator is a serious road racer. Auto-X? Spoon engine won't make much difference there either. You're on an auto-X xourse for about a minute at a time. Spoon engines are nothing more than a reassembled O.E Honda engine with a few extra parts.

For the asking price of just a longblock you can buy a complete B18C5 swap with tranny and everything and still have a nice engine for road racing, auto-X, street, and the occasional trip to the dragstrip.

actually Super Street back in 96 I believe ran the Spoon EK and simply changed the slicks at LACR and it ran a 12 flat so they can be fast

I bought the very first EX cam and cam gear and one of the very first LS ported TB's from JG's and they pulled some shady dyno tricks and posted higher gains than I got 2 other places and the TB stuck from time to time also supposedly even edlebrock is finished with them based on their ways so I would go elsewhere

BTW a guy running a Spoon engine would get blown out of the water in HC since 255 WHP is being made from K20's on a dyno jet in H1

I was around for that, they ran 12.something with the N1 car, just to see what would happen. That sucker was LOUD!

If you want to spend your some hard earned money the right way i would suggest B18C5!!! Strong motor, fast, and can still be built on. Thats my option. All in all...go with what you want.

I don't think you can buy a brand new Honda engine assembly from the dealer for that much? Why compare brand new engine with an used one?

well many veteran engine builders perfer so called "seasoned" engines. Some even leave the blocks outside because surface rust helps to remove impurities
