It's a tank (I have one). If you're going to be competitive, I would suggest holding out for a CX/VX or even a DX.

Yeah, and about 5% of those people even race (legally and competitively) anyway.

funny, yet true.
How many times do we have to go through this. The Si comes with heavier features than any other car from the factory, which will be swapped onto other cars or off the Si anyways....steekl wheels, sound deadengin, etc, bigger gas tank.
Learn to drive and take out all the gutted, vinyl seat filled CX's

With a CF hood, no back seat, and about 1/4 tank(race ready ) It comes into the 22XXlb range easily. If you're looking for a car to race with often hold out.If you're looking for a fun daily driver Si's can't be beat.

Don't forget to add in your own weight too, if you're a little on the heavy side call 1-800-JENNY and do some weight reduction.
Tom you should make a sticky of your EGvsEK post and other informative stuff.

Are the gas tanks swappable? Also, the 4 wheel discs add soemthing to the weight maybe? yes/no? I think that's a feature worth weighting for

True, good point. I think the main thing that people dislike is the Si's moonroof, since it add's some weight at the worst possible spot, the highest point of the car.

Re: How much does my 92 HB Si weight? (rodrez)
I dont have plan for track drag racing but maybe street/daily driving sleeper so weight issue dont matter much. Does it worth swap to a B-series motor or should I just keep everything stock, remember I dont want to race every weekend but would love to see what I could do on the 1/4. Oh yeah my SI is all stock still.

Swap to a b-series, but if you want to be a real sleeper get yourself an H series motor, and have fun laying the smack down on B series guys!
