How much does it cost machine shop to do head?
I have 99 civic EX which is misfiring took it to Honda Dealer and they told me valve is bent or burned. Need to take out head and take it to machine shop.
Do you guys know how much machine shop charge? Also how do I find out machine shop near Hartford CT area? If I decide to do DIY.

Hard to say how much it will cost since most shops charge by the hour + parts. Expect around $60/hr.

Re: How much does it cost machine shop to do head?
As a point of reference, I recently replaced the cylinder head on my sons 92 Civic and it cost $400 for the head and another $80 or so for a head gasket set. This was at a cylinder head exchange type shop where you just exchange your old head for a fully rebuilt one.
You might google cylinder head exchange in Hartford and see you have such a shop in your area and give them a call and check the exchange as well as repair prices.
