Default ECU code 21 (VTEC solenoid), why why why!?

Here's the situation, I just swapped my '98 D16Y8 into a '94 CX hatch. I ran the VTEC solenoid wire to ECU pin A4 (P28), and disabled the VTEC pressure sensor via Uberdata, yet when I start the car, I get a code 21 which indicates a fault with the solenoid. Is there any other trick I missed?? The solenoid is plugged into the A4 pin but I still get the CEL.. help?

code 21 is the vtec spool solenoid valve. so when you dissabled the vtec pressure solenoid you basically took 1/2 of the function away from the vtec solenoid. that pressure switch is important. it wont allow your engine to hit vtec unless you have a least 55 psi of oil pressure. so i would reactivate the pressure switch.

That is correct for a US ECU that looks for the pressure switch. He used a custom ECU ROM w/ the pressure switch disabled.

Are you sure that the solenoid is good? Is the wire hooked up correctly in the ECU harness w/ an ECU pin?

Well I went ahead and did some more poking and prodding and with the help of a friend I got it working. I'm guessing there was simply a faulty connection at some point because I was registering 12v at the solenoid with the engine stopped and the key 'ON', naturally that's not supposed to happen. Did a little re-tracing of the wiring and viola! No more code 21, now i'm just stuck with a stupid code 14 for the IACV

Stupid Hondas...
