How Much Do You Think THIS Hatch is Worth? (My fiancee's B16A2 1992 Si)
*Before anyone even gets pissy, understand that this is not a for sale post. I usually allow "how much is this worth?" type threads because who better to ask what the market value for such cars is than the people who own, buy, and sell them?*
Having said that, the post.
I'm testing the waters for my fiancee's:
1992 Si hatch
Granada Black Pearl
159K on the chassis
70K on the B16A2
Red perfect Type R valvecover
AEM CAI, DC 4-2-1 header, Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust
HASport chipped P28 ECU
AEM Cam gears
Motor dynoed 143/102 a few years ago so it runs fine
No check engine lights EVER!
KYB GR-2 struts
1st-gen APC coil-overs (same exact set-up as O.G Skunkworks. Same springs, rates, ec.)
Speciality Products camber kit - thei car wears tires perfect
Rota C8 wheels in silver
Michelin Pilot SX-GT tires with 50% tread
Racer Design (no longer made) short shifter
ACT Xtreme Pressure Plate with hybrid-lined disc
Powerstop front drilled rotors
AEM pads front and rear (stock 4-wheel discs)
Factory Honda 02 Civic CD player with jumper harness
This car has been in our family since 1997. It was my fiancee's first and only car. The motor was installed in 2000 and has ran perfectly ever since.
I may even slap a new timing belt and waterpump on the motor before the sale.
Here's a few pics:
I'll add some nice engine bay shots and other close-ups on request if anyone's interested.
The car still has factory A/C, power steering, cruise control, moonroof, etc. and all in working form.
recently repainted all of the trims with a really nice O.E looking plastic trim paint so the side moldings and rocker trims look O.E brand new, and if you know me I'm super damn picky so I would not say that unless I thought it were true.
I've got some before and after pics of the moldings is anyone wants to see.
I'm going to put brand new KYB GR-2 struts (same style as on the car that lasted for TWO years already, so you know theyll last) sometime soon and again it'll probably get brand new Honda Timing Belt, Waterpump, and a full tune-up soon as well.
Hell new tires and a re-alignment is probably in the works too.
The only negatives about the car are usual dings along the doors, rock chips up front, and the paint on the roof looks to be oxidized. I'm going to try and remove that stuff, so hopefully that'll fix it. The rest of the paint looks great though as seen in those pics above.
How much do you think it's worth? Honestly? I have my own ideas, but I'm curious to see what the market value is.
We have a very specific vehicle in mind to replace the Civic hybrid:
I'm sure I might catch hell for the replacement choice, but honestly I have never wanted one new car since 1992 or so until I saw the Element. It would be perfect for me and soon-to-be wife.
Thanks for looking y0!

pics work tom.. honestly price varies from place to place.. but if I was 17 and knew of how picky and nice you like to keep the cars.. I'd pay 7k cash.. knowing I can trust that the car is in perfect condition

Re: (euclid)
Well I have my own ideas but again I'm not going to taint (hehe) anyone else's opinion by being really head strong about what I think it should go for.
I'm not one of those people that wants to get every last penny out of a car that's modded either, but when you think about some of the crazy **** that I've seen around here 7K seems totally possible.
I know guys that have paid $4,000.00 for beat up 1992 CX hatches (stock) with 200K on the odo, so really the market is really unpredictable.
I sold my old 1992 Si with a stock D16Z6 motor for $5,000.00 alomost two years ago with 170K on the chassis. 14'' steelies, no A/C, no power steering, no cruise control because it wa all removed for weight.
People underestimate the power of a nice riding well put together hatch with working, cold A/C, power steering, and cruise control.

Re: (B18C5-EH2)
I'll give ya $100 for that lisence plate
You could probably sell it for close to 10-11g's here in Ontario, so that'd work out to like 6-7g's US funds.
Beautiful car, and nice replacement

i would say between 6-8 g's for the hatch the way it is.......depending on supply and demand of course, which is usually high for eg's.

well Tom, i'm getting $5500 cash for my B18B1 1992 VX.....so in your case, i can see $7000-7500 as reasonable, keep in mind that the seller has MAINTAINED the hell out of the vehicle
