How Much Build Could $1200 Get Me?
On a stock GSR engine would $1200 be enough to build the engine/trans for VERY reliable boost? say 10psi? more? less?
Also what would need to be done?
it would be for a daily driver so reliable is key

maybe if you bought some rods and pistons for like 600 , order a rebuilt kit from standard transmission , (300) and get someone to install em (200) and then youll need new seals , arp head studs and a cometic HG. - (450) and then you need turbo, mani , exhaust , tune , etc.... which is gonna be a bit too. but thats what you need to even dream of being reliable.

Don't waste your money on CTR cams if $1200 is your limit. I would say that money could be better spent on a good clutch if you are talking reliability. Are we talking engine and trans internals only for $1200, or complete turbo build ?

^^ huh?? **** no you can a dc for less then 400 and that header is just fine!
1200 on header you better have a fully biult motor, or its pointless.
do some research buddy there are great headers for half that.

Yep he can go get a DC for $400 or less... and when he decides that he wants more than just a I/H/E combo and that DC headers blow we will see it in the FS forum

Im not trying to fight about DC here. I dont like them myself. I understand that yes people all over are driving around making good power with them. When I changed my DC out for my current one I picked up some very good top end with out any drop in low/mid torqe. Thats just me. Only one guys opinion. I was only using that as an example regarding this guy and his $1200 limit and a "build". We both know if we let this turn into another header debate it wil get way out of hand.

Re: How Much Build Could $1200 Get Me?
Well , it is a known fact that DC makes a better header than the stock one, but there is HP to be gained from something with a bit more thought put into it. It is also known that the more you tune it, the less reliable your car is. THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS: he wants to know if $1200 is going to get him reliablility at 10psi. YES, it will. Buy a good set of 550cc injectors, a set of rods and pistons, headstuds and a head gasket, a good FPR, a good tune and have fun all day @ 9000rpm. GL bro!

Well I would hope that if you spent $1200 on a header it would be a "good header"..haha
I was trying to make the point that a "built N/A" wasnt going to happen for $1200.
Best bet if you want highest HP per dollar gains is gonna be boost.
Reliable 10psi for $1200 is a stretch.
