I have the same question, although i know for a fact that torque on B16 is not much compared to B18c.

The latest honda tuning magazine, has a kid with his b16 in there, and that thing looks amazing, after all the mods he had done to it, it was pretty impressive. I recommend you check that article out...

i have a vtec model del sol, came stock with b16a3, it is a fun car to drive, there really is no torque though, which can be frustrating. But you won't be dissapointed, it's a nice starting point.

If you put a b16a/gsr tranny into a civic Ex coupe, would you smoke SI coupes?

Good point.

Transmission/gearing plays a big role.

The b16 does suffer from low torque up until VTEC, however the shifts place you perfectly in the powerband, allowing you to use the torque it has.

What the engine lacks in overall torque it makes up for in gearing when compared to a b18b.

Been three weeks and the swap is still not done. Honda dealership takes a week to order a single bolt!

I might let you know how the b16 feels later tonight.
