How to mount din panel in audio console
Alright guys, I bought the usdm optional audio console about a week ago. I picked up a small sheet of carbon fiber from my friend to mount in the double din area, so I can mount my gauges in there.
My question is, how do you mount a panel in the double din area securely? So gauges and what not can be mounted properly.
Any comments, pictures, whatever would be much appreciated. I have seen this done in many consoles, and always wondered how it was done the right way.
Thanks
Justin

Black rivets looks badass if you can find something to punch into. If you might be changing **** back there with frequency you might want to consider - and no, I'm not joking - velcro strips. Caulk or liquid nails is alright too.

This piece uses blind rivets, with a strip of metal on the top and bottom, behind the panel, that have holes drilled into them, and they've been tapped to accept the bolts you see in the picture. The strips and the panel are basically sandwiched together tightly. The strips are also secured to the plastic in the rear with regular plastic panel screws that you'd find in a Honda interior.

Yeah, his neighbor made that for him and stamped it magnetically. It's a snug fit, very sturdy.

When I had mine set up like your asking all I did was use 2 sheets of ABS plastic. I cut them to fit then sandwhiched them together in the track. It was secure and easy to work with when I wanted to chane stuff. Larry

Re: (KarmaPolice)
post a pic of the back of the console that you are wanting to attach the carbon fiber too... that will help with more ideas of how to attach something in some way or another...
