Default How many revs can stock b16 bottom end take?

8800-9000rpm for fairly long time, on a healthy/clean b16a ...
9500rpm once in a while, will not cause too much harm.

RPM ==>ruins people motors ( )

i agree 100% with eg6ajk........9,500 is kinda pushin it but you could rev it up there a couple times try not to do it much cuz like he said R.P.M.'s do Ruin Your Motor

9+k rpm on stock b16a (including valve train) = above scenario
-first there is no business of reving that high (due the fact that cam no longer makes any power there), second the valve springs and overall valvetrain issues start arising, start of binding springs and few other issues.

Right, I agree, but the question is how high can the stock block go? The guy already has upgraded head/valvetrain to avoid valve float, etc, which are the limiting factors usually. He may still make power above 8500........

I have a b16a2 in a eh2 and I rev to 9000 rpm sometimes, It really doesn't make any power after 8800 or so, it's all stock internals, in fact I just ran a 13.90 with it last night, and would like to thank Hyper duck tuning for the ecu and programs. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=553998

A dyno would figure out where your power falls of course. On my bone stock Si the pinnacle was at 7800rpm. However, with mods the peak may vary. That's why a dyno may be useful.

If you have stock cams there is no way!

Im not going to argue this point, Your *** dyno is giving you wrong Readings!

Ohh...And BTW the stock tach is really off at 8k rpms!

Take your car to a Dyno, You will see whats really going on!

Rainman is right. Stock B16 cams won't make a drop of power past 8. But keep revving up to 8800, I'm sure we'll be seeing a 'I don't know what happened but I was going down the road and my motor blew' thread from you in the near future. I personally think 8500 is plenty for the stock bottom end. With some ARP rod bolts I'd feel safe up to 9. Thats what seems to be the limiting factor when you get way up there in RPM, your stock rod bolts can't hold together, and they actually stretch a very small bit.

everyone is getting off topic, but to answer your question stock rod bolts start to stretch around 9500. that is going to be your next weak spot seeing that you already upgraded your valvetrain

I have had mine up to 8,300 before...but that's when the rev limiter kicks in ...but my motor is still running strong!

stock internals...just I/H/E

dude, they arent stock cams. they're JUN stage 3's, im pretty sure he'll make some power. and if u read his post, he has upgraded valvetrain. so im pretty sure he wont have too much trouble with the springs binding, or getting valve float. the head isnt his concern, its his bottom end. he wants to know what revs his BOTTOM end can take, he asked nothing about what his HEAD can rev to. so stay on topic, and tell him what his BOTTOM end can take.

and IMHO 9k-9.5k
