Default How many build their own engines??

How many of you guys build, or have built your own engines?? Who do you have do the machine work? What brand tools do you use?? I've assembled a few bottom ends, 2 heads, and one complete. Working for Sears, naturally I use Craftsman. I have my bros work(Edwards Engines) do all my machine work- really good...got Skunk 2, JUN, and Darton accounts. Just wanted to see what most of you guys do...

Me and my buddies build our own with craftsman tools, and a local machine shop does our bore/hone, valve seats etc.

Three or four builds with friends...assembling my motor sometime this week, well the shortblock anyway. Also use craftsman tools and local machine shops for machining....this is usually the worst part because in my area it seems hard to find a good one.

Its the same here, I used a 350 piece craftman tool kit that i got a sears for $300.00 bucks.. nothing special... I mean what else do you need besides a 8mm,10mm,12mm,14mm,17mm,19mm and a 32mm... Same as tonyx, we just use a local machine shop to do our usual block work, balancing ..ect...ect...
