how many bolts do you have?

my (94 del sol s) distributor has 3 spots for bolts but there are only 2 bolts holding it in? my 2000 accord is the same way for some reason... will i be alright with just 2 bolts?

honda made 3 spots for a reason, if they think 2 was good, then 2 would of been made

2 is good enough. if you wanna feel good just put in the 3rd one

If there are 3 places where bolts can be put on, I would suggest putting on all 3.

for my accord... only 2 line up. the 3rd 1 is just there. but on my del sol, i kinda stripped it with the wrong screw that's why i'm asking.

I know quite a few people that run with one haha. Motors are fine.

I could never drive a car with just one bolt holding in my distributor. Personally, i would make sure all three were in https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif

i'm just asking because i thought he was just messing around. i guess i'll keep it at 2 unless i find a thinner and longer bolt i can put a nut at the end up because that shit is totally stripped.

civic_driver 12-05-2005 01:20 PM

just get a bolt from home depot.. jesus. it's like 20 cents... you're cheaper than me even lol https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

BiG Chris 12-05-2005 01:29 PM

yea im serious 1 is fine

Re: (BiG Chris)

You can also use zipties on the other hole(s) for that little extra peace of mind. I would suggest, however, that you use all three factory bolts because it's a great safeguard and - honestly - you don't manually change your timing with any frequency.

Re: (Archidictus)

you only really need 2 bolts, as long as they are properly tightend, nothings gonna move. im only using 2 right now, i lost one of them when i was putting in my cams. been running fine for almost a year now
