how low pro should your tires be??? 40s, 45s, 50s
i just bought some adr 16x7s but i wanted kumho 205/40/16...untill people told me those super low pros are dangerous if theres any pot holes, and the ride is worse as ur profile goes lower . i dont even think you can get a 35 series but will i mess up my rims on a pot hole withe these tires the kumhos?

you will be ok on a 205/40-16 you can go w/ a 205/45-16 even if your worried about the rims.. and yes the lower profile they are, the more you are at risk of damaging the rims or blowing out a tire when you hit something

40's or 45's on 16's.. I run 50 wall on my 15's but I think it looks weird to have 50 wall on 16's, IMO.

40's are fine. i hit a pothole in queens a few months ago with 205/40/16 on my 16x7 5zigens and i coulda sworn my rim was gonna be flatter than a pancake. i got out and no damage at all. had me scared for a min tho- it sounded like i hit a dumpster with a cinderblock . personally my next tires will be 45's or 50's i think, but thats just in a effort to get rid of my wheelgap. hahah

I ran 205/40's for about 7 years with no problems at all. And believe me i hit some ean potholes, and raised manholes.

raised manholes are the worst- one of my friends actually cracked his oilpan open on one once

Yeah, what really pissed me off about it was the fact that there were no warning signs anywhere (I went back and looked) and it was about 10:30pm. I was just driving down the road minding my own business when bam...... scared the crap out of me. It poped my bulb out of my headlight, luckly it didn't damage anything.......I guess i should have been paying closer attention, oh well no harm done.
